On the central square on the Sande in Lüneburg lies one of the city's most magnificent buildings: today's Lüneburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, IHK
Opposite St. John's Church stands one of the most imposing buildings on the "Am Sande" square - which now houses the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The Renaissance building from 1548 with its decorative double gable has had a very colourful 400-year history. Before taking on its current function after the Second World War, it served as a brewery/pub, an inn, a retail shop, and a state bank.
