Lüneburg: Lüner Mill
and Abts Mill
These two mills from
the 16th century are located next to each other in the historic harbour
district. Until the 20th century, they processed grain.
While Lüner Mill was
grinding for Lüne Abbey, Michaelis Monastery passed on its Abts Mill to
a council family. The tower of 1530, the "Abtswasserkunst", led water
into the city and at that time already supplied individual patrician houses.
The ensemble is now owned by a hotel.
