Weihnachtsmarkt am Rathaus

At Christmas time, the whole of Lüneburg puts on its festive finery. This includes our venerable town hall, which is home to one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in northern Germany on the market square: The Christmas market at Lüneburg Town Hall. Nestled in a fairytale setting, the Christmas market attracts visitors with the wonderful Christmas scent of mulled wine and gingerbread. While the adults finally find time for a long chat, the little ones can take a spin on the carousel. Another highlight is the trumpeter, whose music can be heard every day at 4:45 pm from high up on the town hall balcony, echoing across the entire market square.
