Hambühren

Welcome to Hambuehren!
Hambuehren is a municipality embedded in beautiful landscape of forests and
meadows, consisting of the districts Hambuehren, Oldau and Ovelgoenne, with
about 10,250 inhabitants.
Hambuehren is situated within close proximity to the royal capital Celle and
the nature
park Suedheide with its vast heathlands.
History
Hambuehren was first mentioned in documents as early as 1235, and Oldau in
1378. It was not until 1 January 1970 that both municipalities were joined to
become a united community. Both villages in the southern Lueneburg Heath have
managed to maintain their rural character to this day.
