AMTSHOF EICKLINGEN

The municipality Eicklingen was one of 6 bailiwicks in the district of Celle.

Only the Amtshof still bears witness to the old administrative and judicial site, where justice was administered until 1859. A classic farmhouse that came into its own at the beginning of the 19th century. It included wallpaper from Paris, large stables, a prison, an apartment for the bailiff, a bakehouse and much more.

Newly rebuilt and completely renovated, it now houses the Lower Saxony Information and Competence Center for Rural Areas. The Amtshof is intended to provide space for new ideas, start-ups, young companies as well as planning and engineering offices with a focus on rural spatial development.

Two valuable wallpapers from the Amtshof can be found in the Hotel Fürstenhof in Celle and in the Wallpaper Museum in Kassel. A replica of the "China wallpaper" is on display in the seminar room of the Amtshof.
