Gallery smock windmill from 1865 with two-storey brick substructure.

The four-storey, very slender octagon is covered with slate and was built by the Benecke brothers from Kirchgellersen, a municipality in the district of Lüneburg.

For better wind utilization, it stands on a brick substructure. In the sixties, Garlstorfer mill was operated with three roller mills and a grain chute.

Through further ownership changes, it was gradually shut down and today serves as a residential mill. The apparatus was removed from inside and the mill was again provided with wind rose and sails.

Garlstorfer mill was even painted by the well-known pop art painter Andy Warhol, who described her as the "most beautiful mill in the world".

However, the mill can only be visited from the outside.
