History of the water mill

Wohlenbüttel water mill is the youngest of the three water mills in Amelinghausen holiday region. It was first set up in 1870 and equipped with an electric turbine in 1897. The turbine drove two stone grinding cycles and generated electricity.

The old electrical system is on the ground floor of the mill building. On the upper floor there are the grinding mills and a series of (grinding) machines, which used to be in neighbouring buildings and were driven by transmission belts.

The mill is still functional today, but is no longer used.
