The Junkerntor  is today one of the oldest surviving architectural monuments in Winsen (Aller) and features on the coat of arms of our municipality.

"My name is Francesco Maria Capellini (although I am called Stechinelli). I came from Italy in 1656 with the last Duke of Celle, first to Hanover and then to Celle.

I am the feudal lord of the manor here in Winsen. I was also entrusted with the duchy's postal service and I also work as a master builder. The view of the manor opens up when I ride through the Junkerntor."

Today, many centuries later, the Junkerntor is one of the oldest surviving architectural monuments in Winsen (Aller) and features on the coat of arms of our municipality. The estate building burned down in a fire in 1882.
