Düshorn is the largest village in the town of Walsrode and was an independent municipality with the districts of Beetenbrück, Ellinghausen and Rödershöfen before the territorial reform of 1974. It has around 2500 inhabitants.

For local amenities, the village has a bank branch, a bakery, a butcher, a grocery store with Toto/Lotto and a travel agency and three restaurants. However, the grocery store will close in 2017, leaving a gap in supply, especially for older residents.

This is why a working group of citizens was formed as part of the village renewal project to continue the business in the form of a village store with an extended range of products from 2017.

On 09.11.2017, the time had finally come. The new village store opened its doors.

Savings bank, post office, supermarket, café, ice cream and baked goods - all under one roof - for everyone!

The large selection of regional products is particularly noteworthy.
