Look forward to spring and the wonderful asparagus season. Asparagus growing has a long tradition on our farm, which has been run by the family for over 100 years.
The small heath village of Benzen is located where the Böhme river flows from the Heidmark into the sandy valley plain. The light, fast-warming soil offers the very best conditions for growing the royal vegetable.
On our farm, run by the Rengstorf family for over 100 years, asparagus cultivation has a long tradition. Thanks to modern foil tunnels, you can enjoy our fine Benz asparagus from the beginning of April. In the farm store you will find everything you need for a delicious asparagus meal.
Since 2016, we have been offering our customers another specialty: Gourmet meat from Duroc pigs. Our Duroc pigs grow up in an outdoor climate stable on straw and are fed a proprietary mixture of grain. Duroc meat has a fine marbling and is particularly tender and juicy. At slaughter time, you can order 3 kg meat packages (roasts and goulash), as well as ribs, fillet, schnitzel and bratwurst.
We also have a small herd of Galloway cattle whose meat we also market directly. More information by phone or email.
During the asparagus season, we are open daily from 8:00 to 18:00, including Sundays and public holidays.
Outside the asparagus season, we offer self-service eggs, potatoes and canned sausage from the farm.
