Course of the circular path
The short tour of the circular hiking trail W8 is 7.2 km long and leads from the car park "Lüßwald" to the forest adventure trail equipped with information boards via a timber harvesting site to a monument of labour service.
After a short journey into the empire of the roaring deer, a bench on the Lüßberg mountain invites you to take a break. Here is a memorial stone, which reminds of the damage of the century caused by the hurricane of 12 November 1972.
Soon thereafter we reach the natural forest reservation in the Lüßwald, which consists mainly of beech trees. The trail continues to a small oak mixed forest where the rare stag beetle can be found.
The journey now takes us through the fairytale forest to a research site on future timber yields and climate change in the forest. The hiking trail leads along a path of the power line back to the hiking car park, past areas partly covered with heather.

Forrest adventure trail: The jungle in the Lüß
The forest adventure trail is part of the short tour of the W8, but also leads to a clearing, point 10 of the circular hiking trail. It has a total length of 8.4 km. At altogether 10 stations all kinds of interesting facts about the forest and its inhabitants are conveyed on information boards.

The starting point for the three hikes through the Lüßwald area is the "Lüßwald" car park on the L280.

The car park "Lüßwald" is located on the L 280 from Unterlüß in the direction of Weyhausen approx. 1 km from the end of Unterlüß on the left side.
