Starting in the middle of the tranquil town of Bispingen, you will find a wonderful place to linger after only two kilometres: the “Borsteler Schweiz” [Borsteler Switzerland].
Continue on the Pastor Bode trail through fields, meadows and beautiful heathlands along the trail to Wilsede.
On the way, you will cross a pasture area which has been fenced in by the Verein Naturschutzpark [Nature Reserve Association]. If you hear soft whinnying you will have met the Dülmener Wildpferde [wild horses of Dülmen], whereas snorting noises indicate the "Wilseder Rote” [Wilseder Red], a breed of cattle that can be found there all year round.
You can view the expanse of the heathland with its quaint junipers particularly well from the Wilseder Mountain. The nearby Totengrund provides a special nature experience, and not only during the heather bloom.
The mixed deciduous forest after Behringen, and the Brunau Lake in Behringen, form a varied backdrop on the way back to Bispingen.
