The starting point of the cycle route is the Weltvogelpark Walsrode. However, as it is a circular route, the starting point can also be chosen individually at any time. From the Weltvogelpark, the route leads through a small wooded area directly into the town center of Walsrode. It continues past the monastery into the small village of Meinerdingen. The local church from the 13th century invites you to take a short break. The route then continues through woods and fields to Düshorn. Here, in addition to the village museum, there is also a beach bath and various inns to stop off at.

Continuing on the "Grand Tour", the cycle path leads past the FloraFarm Ginseng in Bockhorn. Here you have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the farm or just take a break with a drink.

The next town along the route is Bad Fallingbostel. From here, continue to Tietlinger Wacholderhain and at this point you will be immersed in the heathland. In August and September each year, you can admire the purple blossoms of Calluna vulgaris (broom heather) here. In the middle of the juniper grove  you will find the grave of the heath poet Hermann Löns and a memorial in his honor.

The trail continues to Bomlitz. From here, it is worth taking a short detour to the Eibia/Lohheide nature reserve. Its botanical diversity and extensive heathland areas are a wonderful end to the circular tour through the bird park region.

Passing the Cordinger Mühle mill, the route finally leads back to Walsrode.
