This varied cycle tour takes you through the cities of Bergen and Celle, which boasts a captivating ensemble of
unique timber-framed buildings, as well as to small, typical heath villages,
the particularly beautiful Suedheide Nature Park with its heathland, streams,
fields and forest areas and the former cloister town of Wienhausen and its Cistercian
cloister, where you can admire the unique nuns’ choir and other historical
monuments. Your route will also take you along a stretch of one of the most popular
river bike tours in Lueneburg Heath, the "Aller Cycle Path".

This cycle tour is an
ideal opportunity to discover the varied landscape of Suedheide Nature Park, an
area of more than 480 km² with heathlands, heather streams and the largest
contiguous forest areas in Lower Saxony. Enjoy the unique flair of the royal
town of Celle with over 450 listed timber-framed houses and the former
Cistercian Cloister Wienhausen, one of the most important monuments of North
German redbrick Gothic architecture.

The route follows flat
so-called flat country cycle paths without significant gradients on well-developed
and well-marked trails. Short stretches run along cycle paths alongside roads. This
delightful bike tour focuses on experiencing nature at its best.
Path conditions:
Existing cycle paths
were used as far as possible in the interest of nature conservation. Some of
them may be a little more difficult to navigate depending on the weather. We therefore
recommend a sturdy touring bike, MTB or trekking bike for the tour.
