The Heath town of Soltau has a state-recognised spa specializing in brine treatments. Right at the start of the cycle tour you will ride through Böhme Park, family-friendly in its design, and Soltau town centre.
Breiding’s Garden is situated only a few hundred metres from the centre of Soltau and is under a conservation order. Breiding´s Garden is far more than a park. A "large garden" extends over an area of 10 hectares and was laid out by the Röder family of industrialists from 1850 onwards – and, according to experts, is unique in its variety. Expanses of moor, decorative ponds, orchard meadows, giant rhododendrons, an imposing garden villa, as well as a folly enhance the garden. From April to the end of November, there is a free guided tour of the park every second Sunday in the month. The guided tour starts at 3 pm and lasts for about one hour.
From Breiding´s Garden a picturesque trail takes you along the Heath river, the Böhme, to Tetendorf. The cycle trail takes you past Soltau golf park, and you can turn into this for a short break.
Alongside fields and through cool woods, the cycle track takes you to Ahlftener Flatt. Ahlftener Flatt is one of the Heath’s ponds and is just about as idyllic as it gets for a longer break from cycling. If you are lucky, during your break you can observe rare water birds.
From Ahlftener Flatt the cycle route takes you into Wacholderpark (Juniper Park). This is a small, scenically beautiful, stretch of the Heath with dense juniper bushes and a sheepfold typical of Lüneburg Heath. Benches along the route invite you to stop off one last time and enjoy the view of the peaceful Heath landscape.
From Wacholderpark the cycle route takes you back to your starting point via Harber.
