Strolling through Lüneburg, the typical
Hanseatic architectural style quickly captivates the observer. North German
brick Gothic, magnificent medieval patrician houses with ornate gables, and
imposing town houses dominate the architecture of the Hanseatic town.
The characteristic north German architectural
style is particularly well recognized by the houses in "Obere Ohlingerstraße".
The closely built houses are aligned with roofs sloping to the street. Typical
are the alcoves next to the entrance with a sloping roof and four-railed
windows.
